✨ On August 23, at 8:00 pm, a unique concert will be held on the stage of the Batumi Summer Theater. "Howl's Moving Castle", "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind", "Spirited Away" and "My Neighbor Totoro" - you will hear enchanting soundtracks from world-famous anime by the greatest contemporary Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi. Immerse yourself in the world of fantastic music with the sincere, most colorful performance of the contemporary orchestra Mystery Ensemble. Pleasure for the whole family is guaranteed.
During his long career, Hisaishi has worked extensively on music for films, anime, computer games, television and advertising. He also created music for the 1998 Paralympic Games in Nagano. Hisaishi's most famous works are for the cult films of Takeshi Kitano and, of course, for the anime of Hayao Miyazaki.
Hisaishi and Miyazaki are an equally brilliant creative duo. You will never know for sure whether Miyazaki's anime became brilliant thanks to Hisaishi's music or Hisaishi's music became brilliant thanks to Miyazaki's anime.
Such a memorable concert will make your cozy summer evening even more beautiful!
Joe Hisaishi is one of the most famous Japanese composers. He released his first album "Information" in 1982. In 1983, Isao Takahata advised the young composer Hayao Miyazaki to write an accompanying album for the manga Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. Miyazaki liked Hisaishi's work so much that he invited him to write the music for the anime Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. Hisaishi's work on Nausicaä made him famous. As a token of gratitude, he worked on all of Miyazaki's subsequent anime.
Hisaishi has won a record number (four) of the Japanese Academy Awards in the category of Best Film Music. Three of them are for the music of Takeshi Kitano's films: "Sonatin" (1993), "The Boys Are Back" (1996), "Fireworks" (1997). He also composed the soundtracks for Kitano's films Scenes by the Sea (1992), Kikujiro (1999), Brother of Yakuza (2001), Dolls (2002) and Yamato (2005).
